Why We Do It
Hairy Hides was created from a simple belief: dogs thrive on food that’s natural, minimally processed, and true to how they were designed to eat.
We craft single-ingredient treats using cattle sourced right here in Idaho. Our mission is to turn high-quality animal products into nutritious, biologically appropriate chews instead of letting them go to waste — honoring the whole animal while providing dogs with something their bodies recognize as real food.
The organ meats we use come from the same fresh, locally raised Idaho cattle supply chain that provides food for families across our region. The difference is simply how it’s prepared — we dry it into wholesome treats made just for dogs.
Our hide chews are unlike anything else on the market. We do not use chemical baths, bleaching agents, glues, or artificial additives. Instead, we rely on a simple, natural process using only water and air. Each hide is carefully washed until clean, then slowly dried to remove moisture and create a naturally shelf-stable chew.
And yes — we intentionally leave the hair on. Hair is a natural source of fiber, supports digestion, and reflects a more whole-prey, biologically appropriate chew experience for dogs.
